We had the pleasure of working with Paul and Debbie when we moved to the Fairbanks area in 2011. They were extremely attentive and patient with our needs. We were first time home buyers and admittedly a little high maintenance. They offered us amazing support through the process of finding and purchasing our home. Living in Alaska is unique and presents some interesting challenges, after purchasing our home they continued to help us with home owner questions and referrals. When it came time for us to put our house on the market and move on to our next assignment, we went back to them for help selling in 2014. They helped us get the house ready and on the market. We had to move before the house sold and they supported us through the stressful process of selling our home from another state. Paul and Debbie are hands on professionals. They made our family feel welcome when we moved to Alaska and treated us like neighbors. We are very grateful to have had them throughout our time in Alaska. When it came time to find a larger home for our growing family, Paul and Debbie Coben were our first and only stop. We had worked with them before, and frankly, we can’t imagine ever working with anyone else! From their years of experience in the local area to their positive, upbeat, and encouraging attitude, we just knew that they were the realtors for us!
From our first meeting, their willingness to listen and patiently reviewing area maps with us made for a pleasant start to this monumental process. It wasn’t long before we hit the road and personally viewed houses and property in our selected area. Paul and Debbie never pushed a house on us, and they were always willing to show us a home. With flexible schedules and a gun-hoe attitude, we quickly eliminated many houses from the list, and were able to settle on the home for us.
That’s when Paul and Debbie’s experience and help really began to shine! Keeping within our narrow constraints of budget and living area, we had settled on a HUD home (a foreclosure). They knew that if we were going to close this house on time, there was a lot of work to be done. Using their resources, they were able to speak with the HUD coordinators in town and walk us through the entire lengthy process. From submitting the bid, to scheduling inspections, to finally closing, they were with us every step of the way.
Despite the fact that HUD homes have very narrow time constraints, Paul and Debbie helped keep the ball rolling during the inspection phase and always seemed to know who to call to have something inspected or taken care of. While operating as a team, they have the unique ability to literally be in two places at once, which allowed us to get so much done in such a brief period of time. Once the inspections were done, they constantly followed up with HUD and the title company to ensure that everything would close on time.
With several setbacks from HUD, Paul and Debbie kept the paperwork moving, and helped us make any corrections if needed. When a serious roadblock seemed an unmovable object on our way to owning this beautiful home, they worked hard to get us the needed extensions and assistance so we could proceed. We would not have made it through without their knowledge, patience, and encouragement along the way. From the first talk at the office to the final sit down at the title company, Paul and Debbie were there for us, and it felt great to have someone in our corner the whole time! I know we would recommend them to friends, because we already have!
